Ellijay is home. Our office is here, and a large share of the homes we build are in Gilmer County: on the ridges above the Cartecay and Ellijay rivers, around Carters Lake, in the Coosawattee River Resort and the cabin communities off Highway 52 and 515, and on the farm and orchard land that gives Ellijay its apple-country reputation.
Building in Gilmer County
Most lots here are sloped and wooded. That is an asset if the plan respects it: a walk-out basement adds a whole floor of living space and the porch goes where the view is. It also means the site work matters. Driveway grade, drainage, retaining walls, well yield and septic suitability are settled before the design is final, not after the first rain. We work with Gilmer County's building and environmental health departments regularly and know what inspectors expect.
What we build here
- Custom homes on mountain and river lots, from modern farmhouse to mountain craftsman.
- Basement finishing for the walk-out levels most Ellijay homes already have.
- Renovations and additions to older cabins and second homes, including porches and outdoor living.
- Kitchens and bathrooms.
Why a local builder matters
Because the person who priced your home should be the person who shows up when the concrete truck does. John is in Ellijay, on site, and answers the phone. If you are looking at land in Gilmer County, call before you buy it and we will walk it with you.
