JC Home Building was founded on a simple idea: a house is one of the biggest emotional and financial investments a family makes, and the person responsible for it should treat it that way.
John's story
John Cochran started in residential construction as a laborer in the 1970s. Over the following decades he worked every side of the business, finishing as Vice President of Custom Homes at John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, one of the Southeast's best-known builders. That path gives him something rare: an understanding of every nail, every trade and every decision between a cleared lot and a finished home.
JC Home Building is what he built with that experience. It is a deliberately small company. John walks the site, writes the budget, manages the trades and does the final walkthrough with you. There is no sales team and no project manager you have never met.
Now building in the mountains
The company began in the north metro Atlanta counties and still takes projects there. Today the office is in Ellijay, and most of our work is in Gilmer, Fannin, Pickens, Union, Lumpkin and Dawson counties: sloped lots, walk-out basements, long driveways, wells and septic. Mountain building rewards experience, and that is what we bring.
What you can expect
- A first meeting on your lot or in your home, free, with honest talk about what the site and budget allow.
- An itemized budget with allowances, and every change priced in writing before it happens.
- A schedule with milestones, and a straight answer whenever something moves.
- Clean sites, protected floors and crews who treat your home as a home, not a job site.
- Georgia residential contractor license RLCO005672, general liability and workers' compensation coverage.
Thank you for considering us as the steward of your next project.
