Before you call
Where do you build?
We are based in Ellijay and build throughout the North Georgia mountains: Gilmer, Fannin, Pickens, Union, Lumpkin and Dawson counties, plus the north metro Atlanta counties where the company started. If your lot is within about an hour of Ellijay, call us.
How do I get started?
Call or send a message. The first conversation is free and usually happens on your lot or in your home. We talk through what you want, what the site allows and what a realistic budget looks like before anyone draws a line.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. JC Home Building is a Georgia licensed residential contractor (license RLCO005672) and carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections.
Do you work from my plans or yours?
Either. Some clients arrive with an architect's set; others start with a sketch on a napkin. We work with your designer or bring in one we trust, and we review every plan for buildability and cost before you commit.
How long does a custom home take?
Most custom homes take nine to fourteen months from permit to keys, depending on size, site work and finish level. You get a schedule with milestones before we break ground, and a straight answer whenever it changes.
